Thousands of paces all around us; we can retrace his path — delivering
the mail. His lively step and beaming smile, here, Chester Park, is
where he completed his route each day.
And it is here that our family will always be rooted… Fourth of July
picnics, snowman and snow bunny sculpting, a walk through "the
Green"…There is no doubt that we should gather here to memorialize
Daddy; a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend.
And I can’t think of a more fitting memorial than planting a tree.

This tree is a celebration of
his life:
Flourishing seeds like the
friendship that Daddy generously spread to his neighbors,
Flowering with vibrant color,
as was his effervescent manner that captivated his patrons,
Providing shade and cover, just
as he enveloped his children with love and affection,
Acting as a refuge for birds
and butterflies, as was he Mommy’s sanctuary,
Supplying clean air, as did he
impart his compassion and understanding to everyone,
and finally, taking root in the
ground below our feet and growing — just as his faith and values were
the core of our family which will also continue for generations to come.
His legacy is simple, life is
about family and family is life!
This tree, a symbol of your
life, we now plant for you Daddy.
May the breeze that runs
through its boughs, whisper with quiet tenderness, the joy of your life
for all who’ll listen, forever.
