A trench six feet wide and
eight inches deep is cut along the path of the original walkway,
most of which had been reclaimed by grass many years ago.
Sandoval
Masonry supplied the heavy equipment for the excavation.
Five pallets bearing over 600 square feet of
New York blue stone gets delivered by Prospero Nursery.
Each piece of two inch thick stone was
hand-picked for the circle.

each of the 77 pieces into perfect keystone shapes.
Craftsmen from Sandoval Masonry
performed the complicated cutting and placement of each stone.
Top soil is brought up to the
Park for re-grading areas around the newly-leveled walkway.
The soil came from the old
Ingalls athletic field (where the new Middle School now stands). The
Chester Park Association was able to obtain the soil for only the cost of
transport.

Thanks to an aggressive
watering campaign, most of the seed successfully took hold.
